On a car transfers drive from the engine to the gearbox and then through drive shafts to the road wheel.

There is three parts to the clutch( ie/ pic). One of the most common problems can be the clutch slipping just down to wear and tear but also resting your foot on the clutch while driving can also wear it out quicker.

The friction plate has a linings on both sides of it.This makes it possible to to grip and drive the engine and gearbox together.

The pressure plate as named takes up  pressure and cushions the drive transfer. The release bearing makes  this possible through a smooth rotation.
